Since
1991 we have been living with and
learning from and about this marvelous breed.
Little did we know when we got our first
ridgeback that a few short years later we would move
to the country so
the dogs would have more room; buy a minivan
so the
dogs would have more room; and always save
vacation time for the eagerly awaited birth of puppies,
or to attend a ridgeback
specialty show.
Our
breeding program has remained focused on
producing healthy, happy, well socialized
ridgebacks that conform to the breed standard;
that are a pleasure for you to own, and that we
are proud to have bred.
Our
efforts have been rewarded many times over. Vikela
now has more than 30 Conformation Champions.
Several Vikela dogs have earned obedience
titles; one being not only top obedience
ridgeback in Canada for 2000, but also top
obedience dog in the Hound Group for that year. More recently a dog of our breeding earned the OTCH
title, which appears to be only the second time
a ridgeback has ever earned this title in
Canada.
Whether
our puppies go on to earn titles or not each and
every dog we breed is special to us.
